Event Photography and Videography for Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs’ Gathering

Project Overview: Capturing Key Moments at a National Event

We were honoured to provide event photography and videography for the Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs' (IWE) Gathering at The Westin Bayshore from August 27-29, 2024. This event was a great opportunity to document the energy, key moments, and interactions that made it special.

For this, we were a small but mighty crew — one videographer, one photographer, and one editor.

  • Document the event for promotional and archival purposes

Our Approach to Event Photography and Videography

We took a documentary-style approach, focusing on capturing genuine moments of connection throughout the event. Attendees appreciated that they hardly noticed us shooting; we blended into the background and captured special moments as they happened. By keeping our gear setups small, utilizing natural light, and avoiding flash as much as possible, we created a comfortable environment that allowed the event's spirit to come through. We also included sound bites from speakers and organizers to add depth to the story.

Project Budget: Flexible Event Coverage

Budget Range: $5,000 - $10,000

The project included:

  • One photographer for 3 days

  • One videographer for 3 days

  • Video post-production, including editing, royalty-free music, sound design/mix, colour grading, and two rounds of revisions

  • Photo post-production, including editing, retouching, and full commercial rights

  • Video post-production of raw footage, converted to Rec709 for commercial use

We provided the client with multiple options at the project’s outset to fit their needs, allowing them to choose a package that suited their budget.

Timeline: Quick Turnaround for Photos and Video

  • Event photos and the full recap video were delivered within 2 weeks

  • Social media cutdown was delivered within 3 weeks, following client approvals

Client Testimonial: Feedback from NACCA

This is what the team at the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) had to say about working with us.

"We had the pleasure of working with Richard and his team for our IWE National Gathering event and we are very happy with the results. Not only was Richard and his team talented, but they were also professional, personable, and easy to work with.

What really stood out was their ability to capture the vibe of togetherness throughout the event. The photos and video beautifully reflected the connections and atmosphere of the entire event. The attention to detail was fantastic, and they made sure to accommodate all our requests while adding a unique artistic touch.

Communication was great, and Richard delivered everything much quicker than anticipated. If you're looking for a photographer/videographer who’s not only talented and delivers excellent results but is also approachable and collaborative, we highly recommend Richard! It was a positive experience from beginning to end."
