Hi, I'm Richard — a Vancouver-based filmmaker and photographer who's spent most of his life trying to understand people.

That curiosity is what eventually led me to documentary filmmaking. I wanted to make things that actually mattered — work that gave people a chance to be really heard, and gave audiences something real to hold onto.

Over the past three years, I've filmed close to 200 interviews. Each one has reinforced the same belief: the best stories happen when someone feels seen, not just filmed. I approach every project with curiosity, sensitivity, and empathy — drawn to the quiet details, the pauses, the things people don't always say out loud but mean the most.

What makes my approach different is that I think like both a creative and a marketer. I care deeply about the craft, but I also care about whether the work actually lands — whether it connects with the people who need to hear it.

I'm especially drawn to projects that prioritize depth: documentaries, branded content that has something meaningful to say, stories that stick with people long after they've watched them.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me traveling somewhere new, deep in Vancouver's coffee scene, or adding to a playlist that's somehow hit 76 hours. Staying curious about the world makes me better at capturing it.
